Auckland, Friday 11 July
– ‘A Night for Aung San Suu Kyi’ , 7:30 p.m. Grey Lynn Community Centre, 510 Richmond Rd. The show will feature musicians Burmese dancers and readings. Proceeds will be used to fund a postcard campaign sending support back to Burma. Tickets $15, available from The Women’s Bookshop, Ponsonby Road, and Real Groovy Records, Queen Street. -
Auckland, Thursday 17 July
– 7:30 P.M., St Columba Centre, 40 Vermont St, Ponsonby – ‘An eyewitness account of the invasion of Iraq’. This is the start of a tour of NZ by Australian peace activist Ruth Russell, who is also speaking and doing peace workshops in Wellington and Christchurch on July 18, 19 and 20, and a workshop in Auckland on July 21.
